Foundations Learning Center

A User-friendly website for a Learning Center providing easy access to enrollment, classes, and program information.

Role: UX/UI Designer | Tools Used: Canva & Squarespace

The Challenge:

Create a clear, user-friendly, and engaging website that highlights the school's programs, mission, and enrollment options.

Key Design Decisions:

Clean modern design: black and white, with navy blue incorporated into the web design

Initial Live Website: 4 pages. Home, Programs, Information page about individual programs, and about us.

Visual/UI Choices:

Incorporate videos and images throughout the site to create a little bit more engagement and movement throughout the website experience

Information Architecture:

This four-page layout was created to simply view the site’s operations. The Home page includes Foundation’s mission statement, the general programs page, the individual programs page, information of general registration fees, and the footer. The About Us Page gives an overview of the foundation’s mission statement, has a link to the programs page, and a footer with contact info. The Program’s page includes a list of Programs available, as well as an sign-up opportunity to receive emails when new classes are added. Finally, the Independent Program page includes class information, costs, teacher information, and a registration link.

User Flow:

The main goal of Foundation’s Learning Center was ultimately for parents to enroll their children. With limited features included in the first launch of the website, the user flow goes as follows:

The Drafts: Wireframes

The goal was to create a clear, user-friendly, and engaging design that guides parents through essential information about programs, the school's mission, and enrollment opportunities, with the focus and end goal of encouraging parents to sign up their students. As shown in the user flow as well as information architecture, in practically every page, there is an opportunity to guide parents back to the programs/ registration page.

The Final Look:

Part of the initial Challenge in creating this website was engaging parents throughout their experience on the website. To capitalize on this idea, using multiple images and videos made sense, as they influenced one's subconscious to continue scrolling using movement with videos. Although the school didn’t have photos or videos of itself, we chose to use royalty-free images and videos of students studying for visual appeal.
